SHINE. SILVER. SHADOWS.
I've always been drawn to the way the Mackerel skin picks up light. How it reflects, beams metallic blue with splash spots of green. So, today it's looking at the metallic quality of the Mackerel skin versus the metallic discoloration of the aluminum pan. Of course the glimmer of light is nothing without its shadow counterpart. So much of the light gliding off the mackerel reminds me of our skin or our hair when wet with water or oil. I can only say that this won't be my last post on Mackerel's and metallics.
[Cooking: Marinating mackerel in soy sauce, sugar, ginger and mirin. Roasted vine ripped tomatoes.]
